About This Sericel

A sericel (short for serigraph cel) is a hand-pulled screen-printed reproduction of an original hand-painted animation cel. Disney created these collectible editions to make the magic of animation art accessible to collectors while maintaining the authenticity of traditional cel painting.

This particular scene is based on The Pointer (1939), notable for featuring one of Mickey’s earliest more “realistic” redesigns by animator Fred Moore — marking a major artistic step in Disney history.
