Mid-Century Scandinavian Hall Bench — Teak Base & Premium Leather Seat — Norway, ca. 1960s–70s

Elegant Norwegian mid-century hall bench with a solid timber base in thick teak veneer and a beautifully preserved leather cushion.
A functional and minimalist Scandinavian design piece ideal for entryways, bedrooms, or modern interiors.

The bench comes from the heart of Norway’s renowned furniture region between Blindheim Møbelfabrikk, Stokke, Hjellegjerde and Vatne—an area known for its exceptional craftsmanship during the mid-century period.

Although unmarked, the construction, proportions and base design strongly resemble benches produced by Blindheim Møbelfabrikk, and are consistent with other original pieces in the seller’s private collection from that factory.

Condition

The bench has not been refurbished by the seller.
It remains in fully original, authentic vintage condition with:
	•	Minor marks and small age-related imperfections visible in the photographs
	•	Thick teak veneer base in solid, stable condition
	•	Original high-quality leather seat, with no cracks or structural damage
	•	Leather has been professionally cleaned and treated with museum-grade leather conditioner for preservation only (not altered)

The original bottom plate (which likely carried the maker’s decal) has been replaced with a later chipboard plate. The frame, teak veneer and leather seat are all original.

Overall, the piece presents beautifully and is ready for use.
