Wallerin, Norrköping - Swidesh Vergy fuse - IG - Earlier than 1850

Antique Swedish Verge Fusee Pocket Watch – Wallerin, Norrköping – ca. early 19th century A beautifully preserved Swedish verge fusee pocket watch signed Wallerin – Norrköping, an elegant and rare piece of Scandinavian horological history. This watch features a classic white enamel dial with bold Roman numerals, blued-steel hands, and the maker’s name written in graceful script. The case—likely made of brass or a similar alloy—has a warm antique patina and includes the original swing-open front cover with its glass crystal. The back cover closes securely and shows light wear consistent with age. Inside is a wonderfully ornate gilt verge-fusee movement, richly decorated with hand-engraving and a beautifully pierced balance cock. The movement is also signed by the maker, a mark of craftsmanship uncommon in later mass-produced pieces. The watch comes with its original winding key, an important detail for collectors of early key-wound timepieces. Condition Dial: Good antique good condition Case: Shows patina and light scratches from age; hinges functioning. Crystal: Intact. Movement: Visually complete with intricate period engravings. Running in good condition Includes: original winding key. Dimensions Approx. diameter: 63mm Notes This is a verge escapement watch—an early and historically significant mechanism used before lever movements became standard. These Swedish-signed verge watches, especially from cities such as Norrköping, are increasingly scarce and highly collectible. A charming antique for the enthusiast or a fine addition to any collection of early European pocket watches.
