Armagnac is the oldest brandy in France, its little brother is cognac, although cognac is more popu- lar outside the country. Although these two grape-based spirits have many points in common, each has its own identity. Armagnac comes f rom the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. Marquis De Monod Bas Millesime 1990, is meticu- lously elaborated in El Bas-Armagnac or Armag- nac Noir is aged in Gascony (France). The distillery has vineyards that are characterized by their siliceous-clayey soils poor in limestone, sometimes acidic, where we find the Folle Blanche grapes, which produce fine and floral spirits, Colombard, with fruity and spicy aromas, highly appreciated in the blends, Bacco 22 A, a hybrid of Folle Blanche and American Noah that produces round spirits with aromas of ripe fruit, Ugni Blanc and Juraçon. Its distillation is carried out in the continuous armagnacais alembic. The patent for this machine was registered in 1818 and perfected by distillers over time. The brandy obtained after distillation has an alcoholic strength that ranges between 52% and 72%. Marquis De Monod Bas Millesime 1990 meticu- lously mixes the grapes of the chateau and then distills them by hand with the purest French style since 1818 this Millésime: it comes from a single vintage (a reference vintage) 1990, but before it has been aged in oak barrels f rom f rom the Monzelum forest, between 15 and 40 years old. This limited edition has been a minimum of 15 years in oak barrels and more than 30 years in the bottle, in total 45 years of waiting, to be consumed by the most exclusive palates in the world, do you dare?
