Prachtige antieke kerk- of kapelhanglamp, bedoeld voor een kaars, bestaande uit een handgeslepen glazen reservoir dat via drie metalen kettingen hangt aan een decoratief bronzen bovenstuk met een wijd gespreide adelaar. 
Dit type hanger werd traditioneel gebruikt om een vlamlichtje of kaars te plaatsen in kerkelijke interieurs, kapellen of devotiehoeken.

Het glas is diep geslepen in een herhalend blad- en waaiermotief dat het licht zacht en helder verspreidt. 
De bovenrand is voorzien van een sierlijke bronzen montagering met bladdecoratie en originele kettingophanging. Binnenin bevindt zich een kleine metalen pin/knop waarop een kaars geplaatst werd.

Symbolische betekenis:
Adelaar: staat voor kracht, bescherming, verheffing en goddelijke waarneming. 
In christelijke context symboliseert de adelaar vaak Johannes de Evangelist en het spirituele stijgen naar het hogere.

Bladmotief in glas: symboliseert groei, vernieuwing en eeuwigheid, passend bij religieuze rituelen en heilige ruimtes.

Een sfeervol en karakteristiek decoratief object dat zowel als religieus erfstuk als interieuraccent bijzonder tot zijn recht komt.

Conditie
Glas in goede, originele staat met lichte sporen van gebruik en kleine ouderdomsvlekjes.
Brons met mooie authentieke patina.
Geen breuken, wel normale verouderingskenmerken.
Niet elektrisch – uitsluitend voor kaarsen.
