Mooie, authentieke schrijfkist van massief hout, uitgevoerd met het klassieke schuin oplopende ontwerp. 
De binnenzijde is voorzien van groen vilt (vervangend / later aangebracht) en meerdere vakjes voor pennen, inkt en schrijfgerei. 
Onder het schrijfblad bevindt zich een extra opbergcompartiment.

De doos heeft een mooi patina passend bij de leeftijd, met gebruikerssporen en krassen die bijdragen aan de antieke uitstraling. 
De slotplaat is aanwezig, maar de sleutel ontbreekt, waardoor het slot momenteel niet functioneert (zie foto met rode cirkel).

Het meubeltje is ideaal als decoratief object of als restauratieproject, en blijft een charmant stuk uit de Victoriaanse schrijftraditie.

Conditie:
Redelijk, met ouderdoms-/gebruikskenmerken:
Sleutel ontbreekt.
Enkele scheuren in het hout aan de bovenkant.
Slijtage van het vilt.
Scharnieren functioneren maar tonen ouderdom.
Krassen en stootsporen passend bij de leeftijd.
Structuur verder stabiel.

De kavel wordt zorgvuldig verpakt en aangetekend, verzekerd verzonden met een track-en-tracé-nummer.
