The painting you discover here invites a meeting between matter and emotion, between the artist's gesture and the viewer's gaze.
Through its colors, textures, and composition, the work seeks to capture a moment, a sensation, or perhaps a fragment of personal history.
Every detail, every nuance bears the mark of a search, that of a balance between the visible and the invisible, between reality and imagination.
Rather than a simple image, this painting aims to be an experience, an opening to sensitivity, reflection, and daydreaming.
Take the time to contemplate her. She does not deliver a single message but offers each person the freedom to find their own meaning.
I am Frédérique Targez, a painter trained at the Academies of Fine Arts in Brussels and Tournai.
My work explores color, light, and material, in a constant dialogue between graphic rigor and the freedom of gesture. I approach painting as a living space where forms oscillate between the architectural and the organic, seeking a balance between tension and softness, energy and silence.
Over the years, I have exhibited in several cities, notably in Namur, Brussels, Tournai, Liège, and Munich. My work has been selected in numerous art competitions, including the Prix de la Gravure in La Louvière.
I regularly exhibit my work while pursuing a pictorial research that constantly renews itself.
I live and work in Tournai, where I also share my passion for creation as a painting teacher.
