Scatola da cucito con cassetti segreti – Noce, XIX secolo

Dimensioni: 23,5 × 18 × 11 cm
Materiale: noce massello con belle marezzature

Elegante scatola da cucito ottocentesca, realizzata interamente in noce con una raffinata lavorazione a losanghe sul coperchio e con un morbido cuscinetto originale in tessuto rosso, tipico dei modelli destinati alla sartoria fine del XIX secolo.

L’interno rivela una struttura complessa e affascinante, caratteristica delle scatole di qualità dell’epoca: ai lati sono presenti due comparti ribaltabili, azionati tramite piccoli nastri in tessuto, che celano al loro interno ulteriori vani nascosti, ideali un tempo per aghi, fili, bottoni e minuteria.
Il meccanismo dei cassetti segreti è ancora presente e funzionante.

Il legno mostra una bella patina antica, con normali segni dell’età e dell’uso. L’interno conserva la sua suddivisione originale.

La chiave manca, ma la serratura no.
