Antica bilancia a piatti del tipo Mars Wage. 
Con capacità fino a 2 kg di peso è stata uno strumento impiegato comunemente nelle famiglie o nelle botteghe fra la fine '800 ed inizi del '900.
La struttura in ghisa pesante realizzata a stampo, dal decoro lineare e razionale di gusto contemporaneo, si presenta in eccellente stato di conservazione.
I piatti, in ottone ormai brunito, recano traccia del tempo passato come utensile d'uso corrente.
Caratteristiche queste che incontreranno il gusto di appassionati del settore sia come oggetto da collezione che come elemento di arredo in ambienti rustici.
Il colore dei materiali è quello naturale della ghisa industriale di fine '800 perché l'oggetto ha subito un trattamento di pulizia con brunitura che ha rimosso tutti i colori estranei e posticci
