1908 The Chaldean Oracles Vol. II 

Alchemy, like Freemasonry, has two aspects, material and spiritual; the lower aspect being looked upon by initiates as symbolic of the higher. “Gold” is used as a symbol of perfection and the earlier traces of Alchemy are philosophical.

While not explicitly in the core rituals of "Craft" Freemasonry, the philosophical and symbolic concepts found in the Chaldean Oracles are present in broader Western esotericism that some Masons explore:

Theurgy: The Chaldean Oracles are fundamental texts of theurgy, a practice aimed at achieving unity with the divine through ritual and contemplation. The concept of seeking higher knowledge and communing with the divine, while not explicitly theurgy, is a goal within esoteric Freemasonry.

Symbolic Language: The Oracles use rich, arcane language and symbolism concerning the cosmos, elements, and divine emanations. This type of symbolic interpretation resonates with the general emphasis on symbols and allegory found within all branches of Freemasonry.

Shared Beliefs: Concepts within the Oracles, such as the focus on "fire" as a purifying element and ideas about the soul and the structure of the universe, align with general mystical traditions that some Masons study for personal development.
