Description from the seller
In 1952, architect and designer Marcello Nizzoli, together with engineer Giuseppe Beccio, created the famous Olivetti Studio 44. This model was proposed as the evolution of the previous Olivetti Studio 42, designed in 1935 by Figini and Pollini with artistic input from Xanti Schawinsky.
The Studio 44 represented a perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics, reflecting the innovative spirit of the era and its connection to the Ivrea industry, making it one of the most iconic typewriters produced by Olivetti.
Introduced in the 1950s by Nizzoli and Beccio, the Olivetti Studio 44 typewriter is an example of successful design and mechanical engineering, becoming famous not only for its functionality but also as a symbol of modernity and Italian style.
Characterized by elegant lines and a distinctive look, the Studio 44 stood out for its robust structure and ease of use, making it the ideal choice for writers, journalists, and professionals.
Founded by Adriano Olivetti, the company dedicated itself to combining aesthetics and innovation.
The Studio 44 was equipped with ergonomic keys and a precise mechanism that allowed for smooth writing. This typewriter quickly became a benchmark in the industry, becoming a part of the daily life of many.
Today, the Studio 44 is considered a collectible object, a piece of history that embodies the elegance and functionality typical of 20th-century Italian design.
Dimensions: about 19x41x35 cm.
The typewriter is equipped with the original brown cover branded Olivetti and its authentic carrying case/storage case. I recommend a maintenance check and replacing both ribbons for writing, as the current ones have been stationary for quite some time.
