Artist Biography:
Louis De Saeger was a Belgian painter born in Dendermonde in 1908 and active in Ghent, where he later passed away. He studied drawing at the Academy of Dendermonde under Maes, Gorus, and Gogo, then continued his artistic education at the Academy of Ghent with O. Coddron and Alfons De Cuyper.
De Saeger is known for his evocative depictions of landscapes, city views of Bruges, Dendermonde, Deinze, Beernem, and Ghent.
His style blends traditional realism with an impressionistic softness, especially in his winter and river scenes.
