For afternoon tea table, dating to the 

Edwardian period, circa 1910.
 
Fascinating folding cake stand with patented mechanism
 
 
Arranged as five circular stands with tiered edges and a diameter .
 
Rotating upon a central pivot, the stand reaches the horizontal plane
 
From here, a further two stands smoothly fan outwards
 
Sliding latch locks securely into place - lift outwards and up to return the stand to its upright position
 
Shaped lifting handle with arched form stands above the whole
 
 
Emblem to rear reads ''The Monoplane'' registered trademark. British Patent No; 222,276
 
Supports united by a diamond-shaped stretcher rail above shaped trestle legs with discrete slipper feet
