Item Description: This is a vintage Pilot Custom KF-3500 fountain pen, featuring the sacred "Heart Sutra" (般若心経) inscribed in elegant gold script on a lustrous red lacquer barrel. Crafted in the 1970s, this piece reflects a harmonious blend of spiritual artistry and traditional Japanese craftsmanship. The body is made of copper alloy with a red lacquer finish, while the nib is crafted from 18K gold, offering a smooth fine (F) writing experience. The engraved calligraphy is the work of renowned Japanese calligrapher Tanaka Kaidō (田中塊堂), adding significant cultural and artistic value to this collector’s item. Please note the following condition issues: multiple cracks are visible near the nib on the underside of the section; the top finial has a surface crack; rust is visible deep inside the cap; the ring has impact marks; the clip shows plating loss and dents; traces of the cap are visible on the grip section; lacquer peeling is present near the front barrel; plating loss is also observed on the front barrel ring and barrel end; overall signs of wear, scratches, and general use are present.
