This early twentieth century linen damask table linen from France, 2.40 by 1.70 metres with eight napkins, features lily of the valley motifs and an opportunity to add your own embroidery.
Description from the seller
This is an excellent early XXth Century table linen with 8 matching napkins.
However there are no initials with this set.
There are several reasons for this.
Either the bride ran out of time to have them embroidered.
Or worse the new bridegroom was killed in the war or the engagement
was called off. So there is a change for you to do your own embroidery.
We do have a service where we can embroidery them for you and show you
photographic documentation.
The design of the damask are Lily of the Valley flowers, always so popular with the French.
A woodland flowering plant with sweetly pendent bell shaped flowers.
The main part of the table linen and the napkins are scattered with a small posy of
three bell shaped flowers.
The borders have two generous rows of leaves and lily of valley flowers.
The napkins measure 70cm x 85cm and have just one wide row of leaves and lily of the valley flowers.
PLEASE NOTE;
There is a tiny hole on the table linen, caused by hot ash not having reached the ash tray on time.
We have secured it with a piece of a thermo collant at the rear which will not come off in the wash.
