You are bidding on a very fine and rare antique 4/4 violin, labeled Gio Bapt Grancino in Contrada Largha di Milano anno 1701. The violin is in good condition, professionally restored in our workshop, repaired cracks on top, grafted scroll, bushed peg-holes, good ebony set up.
The violin has an excellent medium grained spruce of the top and one piece back of strongly narrow flamed maple with matched sides and neck. The whole length of the violin is 594 mm and the back 358 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 161 mm; middle bouts: 110 mm; lower bouts: 206 mm. Full size.
