Description from the seller

Up for auction is an antique full size master violin.
The label says: "Dominicus Montagnana sub sigurfuni Cremonae Venetiis 1736". Very beautiful in appearance. The violin is in good condition with no visible cracks, new ebony set up, new master made bridge and old Dominant strings. Very nice two pieces softly flamed maple back with matched sides and scroll, straight high grained spruce top. Golden-brown-reddish varnish.
Length of back is 358 mm,
whole length is 593 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 167 mm; middle bouts: 114 mm; lower bouts: 207 mm. Full size.
The sound is very good, suitable for soloist.

Violins and bows described as 'certified' or 'attributed' include images of their certificates and are therefore considered to have a higher degree of documented certainty regarding maker, origin, and age than instruments described only as 'labelled' (violins) or 'stamped' (bows), for which we provide no guarantee of any kind.
