John d Green - Birds of Britain - 1967

John d. Green was known for his book with the confusing title 'Birds of Britain.' The content consisted of a number of striking 1960s-style photos of models, singers, young 'debs' (if such a thing existed), and a lady strangely covered with what appeared to be motor oil. This was a large picture book for the legendary coffee table, published in 1967 by The Bodley Head Press for three guineas. Each photo was accompanied by a description that today makes little sense. But in fact, the entire book is a treasure from the Swinging Sixties. As far as I can tell, John d. Green did not repeat or further develop his publishing career, but this masterpiece leaves no room for improvement.

This book is hardcover, has no dust jacket, the interior and exterior are clean and tight, with no inscriptions. It weighs 1413 grams and measures approximately 35.5 x 27.5 cm, with about 150 unnumbered pages. It is the first edition from 1967.
