Description from the seller
Montevertine Riserva 1990
This bottle of Montevertine Riserva 1990 represents one of the most refined expressions of traditional Sangiovese from Radda in Chianti. The winery, Azienda Agricola Montevertine, is renowned for its uncompromising, artisanal philosophy and for producing pure, elegant, terroir-driven wines long before the modern “Supertuscan” movement took shape. The 1990 vintage is widely considered one of the estate’s strongest releases of the decade.
According to Robert Parker, the wine holds a 94-point rating, which solidifies its status among the top Tuscan wines of its era. Based on the photo you provided, the bottle appears to be in very good visual condition: the label is intact and clearly legible, the capsule is undamaged, and the fill level looks appropriate for a wine of this age.
In terms of drinkability, Montevertine’s 1990 Riserva has reached full maturity, showing the complexity and depth that come from more than three decades of careful ageing. When well stored, it can still be enjoyed now with excellent results, though collectors may also continue to cellar it for a few more years, depending on personal preference for tertiary evolution.
The standard format is 0.75 L, and the bottle remains highly desirable both for consumption and for collection due to the reputation of the estate, the vintage quality, and the relatively low market availability of older Montevertine releases.
