A cast bronze cross pendant with four equal-length arms, each terminating in a rounded knob, and a raised central junction. The integrated suspension loop is drilled for hanging. This form is characteristic of Christian devotional pendants produced in Byzantine-influenced workshops following the Christianisation in the late 10th century.
Historical note: Knobbed crosses of this type reflect both the spread of Orthodox Christianity and the blending of local artistic traditions with Byzantine forms. They are found in Rus’ territories, Scandinavia, and along the Varangian trade routes, often worn by warriors and merchants as symbols of faith and identity.
