Bastone etnico con impugnatura in metallo e fusto a perle lignee intarsiate – Africa, XX secolo

Descrizione dettagliata
Bastone  di manifattura etnica africana, caratterizzato da una lavorazione insolita e decorativa. Il fusto è composto da una lunga sequenza di perle in legno nero con piccoli punti dorati incisi, probabilmente ottenuti tramite intarsio o applicazione di chiodini metallici.
L’impugnatura è realizzata in metallo patinato, modellato a forma ricurva, tipico dei bastoni cerimoniali o da posizione.
La parte terminale è biforcuta, composta da elementi piatti in cuoio/pelle lavorata e cucita a mano, legati da un intreccio di cordame naturale.
L'estetica complessiva suggerisce un bastone da danza, cerimonia o ruolo sociale, non un bastone da appoggio funzionale.

Condizioni
Il bastone presenta segni d’uso e dell’età, compatibili con l’origine etnica. Una perla nella parte inferiore presenta una rottura (visibile in foto). La pelle del terminale mostra naturale usura, pieghe e piccole sfaldature.
Impugnatura metallica ossidata/patinata. Oggetto complessivamente stabile e integro nella struttura.

Curiosità
Bastoni di questo tipo venivano spesso utilizzati in contesti cerimoniali o danze tribali, specialmente quando caratterizzati da fusti segmentati e terminali ornamentali. L’uso di perle in legno intagliate è tipico di alcuni popoli dell’Africa centrale, mentre l’impugnatura metallica potrebbe essere stata aggiunta in fase successiva.
