M. DACHS, Africa, a terracotta sculpture on a wooden base, 27 cm high by 10 cm wide by 10 cm deep, weighing 1 kg, dated 2025 and signed, in excellent condition, inspired by the beauty of the African woman and rendered in a contemporary rustic style.
Description from the seller
Original unique piece, made of terracotta and mounted on a wooden base.
Inspired by the beauty of African women.
This sculpture depicts a female bust with great expressive strength and serenity. Carved with a earthy finish and rough texture, it evokes the warmth of natural clay. The face, with closed eyes and slightly parted lips, conveys a sense of introspection, calmness, and inner beauty. The lips and cheeks are softly pigmented in violet and pink tones, providing a subtle contrast with the base color.
The hair, gathered in a kind of headdress or wrapping braid, organically integrates with the ensemble, as if emerging from the earth itself. The slender neck and the treatment of the bust in the form of a cloak or wrap give it a sculptural, almost ethereal, spiritual air.
The work, mounted on a wooden base, suggests a universal female figure, at peace with herself, detached from the outside world, with a strong symbolic component of femininity, nature, and contemplation.
