2017 Lisini - Brunello di Montalcino DOCG - 6 Bottles (0.75L)

Lisini Brunello di Montalcino 2017 DESCRIPTION: Producer: Lisini Wine: Brunello di Montalcino Vintage: 2017 Number of Bottles: 6 Size: 0.75 Grapes: 100% Sangiovese Aging: 36 months in Slavonian barrels Alc.: 14.5% One of the oldest estates in Montalcino, Lisini's origins date back to the conquest of the city by the Medici, who awarded Captain Silvio Clementi and his family the Pecci Palace in Montalcino. Clementi later also purchased land in Sant'Angelo in Colle, where the winery is now based. Today, the estate is still in the hands of the same family and has played a key role in the modern history of Montalcino, becoming one of the founding members of the Brunello di Montalcino Consortium in 1963. Lisini's winemaker, Filippo Paoletti, creates five masterful wines using traditional techniques such as large oak barrels and concrete tanks. His masterful Brunello is made with 100% Sangiovese from premium vineyards located 300-350 meters above sea level. The grapes are then vinified in glass-lined concrete tanks to ensure the pure character of the variety and terroir is captured. The wine is then aged in enormous 20-52 hectoliter barrels for at least 42 months, and then undergoes a further 6-8 months of bottle maturation before release. The result is a refined and powerful Brunello bursting with bright red fruit character, hints of aging oak, and licorice, dried fruit, and herbal notes. On the palate, it has a medium body, ample freshness, and a very long finish. A great addition to the cellar or a perfect partner for hearty red meat dishes.
