This piece is one of those paintings where I simply followed the joy of colour. I wanted to capture that feeling of standing in front of an endless lake of pink water lilies—where the flowers seem to stretch all the way to the horizon and the sky feels wide, calm, and full of movement. The little flock of birds across the blue sky came almost as an afterthought, but they’re what brings the whole scene to life for me. They add that quiet sense of freedom… as if nature is having a moment of celebration. I painted the lilies loosely, letting the pinks dance over the deep greens, because that’s how this field feels in my mind—vibrant, abundant, and gently chaotic in the best way. It’s a painting meant to make you breathe a little deeper and smile without realising it. A margin of approximately 2 inches is left around the painting for stretching and framing purposes.
