Yohji Yamamoto, one of Japan's leading fashion designers, presents his collection, “Talking to Myself.” After graduating from Keio University, Yamamoto studied fashion at the Bunka Fashion College. In 1981, he made a name for himself worldwide by presenting a groundbreaking collection at Paris Fashion Week that featured black clothing, which was considered taboo in the fashion world at the time. He continues to expand his brand and remain at the forefront of fashion. This book is a two-volume collection published in 2002. It features photographs by renowned fashion photographers such as Peter Lindbergh, Nick Knight, Sheila Metzner, Paolo Roversi, David Sims, and Sarah Moon, along with Yamamoto's drawings, words, and texts by philosopher Seiji Washida. The second volume, “1981/2002,” showcases collections from his debut at Paris Fashion Week in 1981 through 2002.
