E.A.Leuteritz - Meissen - Artwork Amphora Vase - Double Snake Handles - Vase - Hand Painted Porcelain

State of Art Antique Amphora Vase with Double Snake handles, icon model of the great designer Ernst August Leuteritz (1818 - 1893) from 1853 made by Meissen Porzellan Manufaktur, in excellent condition. This magnificent amphora vase has two marvelous curling snakes handles on both sides, hand painted bouquet of flowers decorations different on the front and back of the vase, heavy gilded on textured foot, middle and rim. This fabulous amphora vase created by Ernst August Leuteritz “is a shining example of Meissen's historicism. Characteristic of this style is the liberal incorporation and even amalgamation of elements from preceding epochs, in particular from the Renaissance, Baroque, and Rococo periods. This masterpiece of European … culture is nothing short of lavish, almost ostentatiously …with elaborate reliefs in 23-karat gold coating. Such elegant porcelain, often entirely covered with painted adornments and gold, was keeping in line with the appetite of that era's well-to-do bourgeoisie for displaying their wealth and status.”(Meissen.com) The amphora is in excellent condition, marked with Meissen blue crossed swords mark, two grinding lines, possible slightly faded gild, NO chips, NO cracks, and NO repairs, please see the pictures as they are part of description. Dimensions: Height: 27 cm Length with handles: 16,5 cm It will be very carefully and safely packed ! With love and respect for the porcelain - “ The White Gold “
