AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A very nice and excellent-driving Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet 1.6 Automatic from 1985, in a beautiful dark blue metallic color. It has a deregistered German registration. A beautiful car with a lot of character and already over 40 years old.

Documents :
The car has a German registration, so a new (foreign) buyer can easily register the Golf in their own country. This convertible was originally delivered new in Germany in 1985 and is now located in Hengevelde, the Netherlands.

Bodywork:
The Golf has minimal signs of wear and looks very neat. See the photos.
It has a very neat, insulated soft top that operates manually and is very easy and light (easy to open and close). The original cover pictured is, of course, included. The original Volkswagen alloy wheels are in neat, used condition with minimal damage, see the photos. The underside of the car is also very neat. The car was factory-painted white, and about 25 years ago it was repainted in the current Volkswagen Dark Violett, a color that suits it particularly well. For those in the know, the color code is LC4V, the same color as the illustrious and incredibly well-known Golf 2 G60 Rallye.

Technical:
The last service was some time ago, sometime in 2024. The car drives, brakes, shifts, and steers very well; it's a wonderful car to drive. Basically, the advice is to first have the mechanicals (timing belt!) checked before driving longer distances, as is the advice for any used car. As can be seen in the photos, various old and new parts are included.

Interior
The interior is quite neat and shows some signs of wear, as shown in the photos. The door panels are in near-new condition. The dashboard, floor mats, and carpeting are very neat, while the driver's seat needs some repairs (after 40 years!). All in all, this Golf has a neat, but not perfect, interior.

Transport:
The car is located in Hengevelde, Netherlands, and can naturally be picked up there. The car can be delivered within the Netherlands for an additional 150 euros (excluding VAT), excluding the Wadden Islands.
For the foreign bidders:
Delivery/Transport
The seller can arrange for the car to be delivered throughout the EU by a professional carrier at a relatively low cost. If you wish to receive a quote for the transport, please do so during the auction so you have a clear overview of the costs. Of course, you can also organize the transport yourself, and the seller is happy to assist with that.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
