A pair of silver chambersticks from the era of King George III. These round candle holders feature a handle and bobeches. Each bears a different engraved family crest. A notable detail is that this pair was sold at the well-known auction house Christie’s. On 18 March 2009, they were sold in London, South Kensington, at Christie’s together with further property of the 14th Earl of Kintore and the collection of Bernard Lyons. Made in London, 1759 / 1764 Made by Ebenezer Coker Fully English hallmarked for sterling silver. The dimensions of these fine solid-silver chambersticks are: Length: 10 cm Width at the base: 18.5 cm (with handle), 15 cm without handle Weight: approximately 348 + 357 = 705 grams of solid sterling silver.
