From 1971 to 1975 Molenkamp studied at the Academy of Fine Arts St. Joost in Breda. From 1977 to 1979 she pursued training in drawing and painting at Tilburg’s Academy for Visual Forming. Molenkamp spent a number of years in Utrecht in the 1980s. She now lives and works in Tilburg. Born into an artist family, Charlotte Molenkamp decided to pursue an artist’s training in 1971.
After her studies in Tilburg she took a part-time job as a drawing and art history teacher, while continuing to focus on her own work. In 1980 she began making gouaches in her own home in Utrecht.
