Cecil Beaton had a lifelong and close relationship with ballet, spanning from his childhood to his career as a set designer and photographer. He designed costumes and sets for various productions and documented the ballet world through his photographs, which are also included in his personal book “Ballet.” He worked closely with many important figures in the ballet world, including Diaghilev, Fonteyn, and Balanchine.

First edition hard back binding in publisher's original lilac cloth covers, silver title and author lettering to the spine and per panel, pink dyed upper edges. 8vo. 8½" x 5½". Contains 85 printed pages of text with monochrome illustrations and photographs throughout. Minimal wear to the covers, ghosting to the end papers. Very Good condition book in Very Good condition panoramic art work dust wrapper with 2 mm piece of paper missing to the top of the spine, tiny chips to the mers, not price clipped 15s. Dust wrapper supplied in archive acetate film protection, this preserves and prolongs the life of the paper, it is not adhered to the book or to the dust wrapper.
