Rare copy of the work "The Crucifix in History, in Art, in the Souls of Saints and in our Life" by J. Hyppenoit. This book, with a spiritual, historical, and iconographic purpose, deals with the symbolism of the Cross in the Christian tradition.
The work is richly illustrated in a neo-Gothic style, with a magnificent red and gold cover featuring liturgical motifs: a radiating cross, rooster, lily, hammers, nails, column, crown of thorns, etc. It is adorned with numerous illustrated borders in black, red, and gold, in a highly decorative graphical presentation.
