Description from the seller
We have one available! An exceptional and rare design item attributed to designer Louis Kalff. This item has been upcycled from a table heater into a beautiful branded Ufo lamp, including a new LED head mirror lamp. The lamp stands on three conical legs. Height 18cm, diameter 35cm. The entire piece is in new condition and assembled in meticulous detail. The head mirror is adjusted so that the mirror aligns exactly with the top of the shade, preventing you from looking directly into the lamp. The shade is finished with stainless steel components. It dates from the 1960s and was originally used as a table heater. Louis Kalff (see photo) designed this so-called Ufo heater for the company Itho, now known as Itho-Daalderop from Schiedam. He also designed the Evoluon in Eindhoven, which has the shape of a flying saucer, and this lamp is a scaled-down derivative of that design. The head mirror beautifully disperses the light along the top, sides, and bottom. The lamp is fitted with a new red cord with a slide switch and flat plug that fits all European outlets. The table heater has been fully stripped, removing the heating spirals, control knobs (where the lamp now sits), and the fan (see photos). The old fan is included. The shade and base have been recently painted with two-component lacquer. The color of the shade is the original high-gloss red, known as fire brigade red. This item is offered by Light Design. NO RESERVE PRICE! The last 7 photos are from a client. If you want to own this beautiful lamp, this is an excellent opportunity. It is rarely offered in this condition and will only increase in value over the years. This is not a lamp you find in stores. The lamp will be carefully packed and shipped within 24 hours.
