Kodak Cine - Model B 16 mm camera, tested and working.
Description from the seller
Cine-Kodak Model B, a 16 mm camera manufactured in the 1920s for 50 or 100 reels.
Distributed by Eastman Kodak for the French market, with original plates and instructions in French. Robust construction in metal coated with vulcanized leather and winding mechanism operated by a spring motor with a rotating shutter. Folding viewfinder type “frame finder” and integrated mechanical film counter on the top.
The camera is functional, clean, and well-preserved for its age.
Dimensions: 22x12x5cm, camera only.
Weight: 2.80kg with case.
Equipped with Kodak Anastigmat optics (unit in very good condition, without fungus or haze).
It has a top dial that, when manipulated, switches to a red filter in the viewfinder. It is used to filter light and protect the film during framing when using orthochromatic film or film not sensitive to red (very common in the 1920s). The original case (with wear) and instruction manuals/booklets in French are included.
A key historical piece in the early home cinema systems and highly valued by collectors of vintage cinematic cameras.
The tilting frame viewfinder and the mechanical footage counter complete a robust and elegant design characteristic of the early 16 mm cameras.
The unit offered is functional, clean, and in very good overall condition, with the original case (somewhat deteriorated) and instruction booklets.
The Cine-Kodak Modelo B was a milestone in the transition towards more compact and accessible cameras for the general public. Its robust construction, mechanical design, and historical significance make it an essential piece for any collection of vintage cameras or classic cinema.
Remarks:
The lot will be shipped with secure and careful packaging. The camera is delivered as described and shown in the photographs, in very good overall condition for an apparatus nearly 100 years old.
Ideal for collectors of cinema and historical cameras.
