You are bidding on a very fine and rare old italian 4/4 violin, labeled: Januarius Vinaccia fecit Neapoli sub signo Cremonese in Rua Catalana Anno Domini 1779. The instrument is in ready to play condition with tears, wears, old repaired cracks on top, new rosewood set up and new strings. The violin has an excellent medium grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of strongly flamed maple with matched sides and scroll. Rich golden amber color varnish shows an amazing wooden choice. The whole length of the violin is 591 mm and the back 355 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 162 mm; middle bouts: 108 mm; lower bouts: 200 mm. Full size. The sound is very deep, rich, powerful, suitable for soloist. Shipping by DHL worldwide
