Ship's clock - Brass - 1910-1920

Heavy English ship's bell with the distinctive chimes used to signal watch changes on a ship, known as glass chimes, which consisted of a watch period of 4 hours each.
At 12:30, a strike; at 1:00, two strikes; and so on until 3:30, when the clock strikes seven times.
At 4:00, the clock strikes 8 times, then the cycle begins again.
The clock has a section in the case with openings to make the sound more audible; see the detail photo.
The clock runs and strikes but occasionally stops; it needs some attention, or it's not entirely clear whether the clock and dial, etc., belong together. The dial says: SHIPS BELL STRIKING HEZZANITH.
