Description from the seller
Märklin H0
48690 - Three-piece calibration wagon set for calibrating weighing points.
The set is in new condition and is supplied in the original packaging and with all weights.
The set 48690 consists of 3 wagons; 2 ice wagons of type 761 and a closed freight wagon (tool wagon).
The lids of the calibration carts can be opened so that the included model calibration weights can be placed on and removed with tweezers. The calibration carts have 3 axes, and each calibration cart is equipped with 8 removable weights.
The wagons are equipped with short couplings (KKK).
The total length of the set is 26.8 cm.

For weighing wagon loads, there are various weighing points where the wagon, including its load, can be weighed. These weighing points need to be regularly calibrated. Calibration is performed using so-called calibration wagons. These wagons have a fixed calibrated weight. Additional weights can optionally be added to the wagon to allow the weight to be adjusted over a wide range.
The calibration wagons do not have brakes because wear on the brake pads could affect the weight of the wagons. The calibration wagons are typically accompanied by a tool wagon in which the extra calibration weights are transported. The wagons were built at the Uerdingen wagon factory starting in 1949.
