Description from the seller
This exceptionally large neo-Gothic wall cross, crafted from solid cast brass, is a true eye-catcher. With its generous dimensions of 55 cm high and 40 cm wide, it has an impressive presence that immediately draws attention in any room. It's a decorative and atmospheric object that effortlessly complements any interior.
The cross is richly detailed in a typical late-19th- to early-20th-century neo-Gothic style, with pronounced fleur-de-lis finials, graceful trefoils, and delicately cast floral patterns across its entire surface. At its center is a beautifully modeled Corpus Christi, also cast in brass, with great attention to expression and detail. The radiating mandorla behind it reinforces the devotional character and adds depth to the whole.
On the back is an old handwritten inscription from 1933, a charming detail that adds history and authenticity to the object. The natural patina and subtle copper oxidation underscore its age and give the cross a warm, antique look.
Its exceptional size and decorative appeal make this cross ideal for placement in a hallway, living room, chapel, office, or above a dresser. It's a piece that not only carries religious symbolism but also possesses strong aesthetic value.
An imposing and characterful antique piece that immediately stands out — perfect for lovers of religious art, Gothic Revival, and large decorative objects.
