Rare pair of smooth lyonnaise boules from the late 1920s/early 1930s, total weight 2200 g (about 1100 g per boule), with original thick leather laces, smooth turned surface with a natural green‑brown patina, no nail marks and 100% original, sold as a pair.
Description from the seller
Pair of antique Lyonnais balls – 2200 g – Original leather laces – 1920s/1940s
Rare pair of Lyonnaises 'smooth' (non-spiked) from the period, a transitional model just before the arrival of the first modern hardened steel balls.
Total weight: 2200 g (approximately 1100 g per ball)
Smooth surface, turned on a lathe, with a very beautiful natural green-brown patina.
No nail striation: these are solid steel (or steel/bronze) balls from the late 1920s/early 1930s, a period when some manufacturers were already abandoning nail fastening.
- Thick leather shoelaces, handmade, complete, soft, and in excellent condition (which is truly exceptional)
No repairs, no cracks, 100% original.
A very rare set: smooth Lyonnaises with intact leather laces are much rarer than the classic studded ones. Perfect for a collector, a bistro decor, or to play on a traditional field.
Condition: excellent vintage condition, homogeneous and very aesthetic patina.
Fast and ultra-careful shipping via bpost (Belgium) – tracked parcel, reinforced packaging.
Sold as a pair with its leather laces, exactly as on the photos.
Beautiful piece of history of Lyonnais bowling, difficult to find in this condition.
Carefully sent by Bpost.
