Every Star portrait is one of a kind, handcrafted by Simone Post and named after a star. These unique, distinctive characters are all made from 100% wax-printed cotton textile rejects by Dutch manufacturer Vlisco.

About Post
Simone Post (*1990, Utrecht, the Netherlands) is a multidisciplinary creator with roots in textiles, based in Rotterdam. Growing up, she was surrounded by sewing machines to play with as her mother held sewing classes at home. She graduated with honors from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2015. Simone’s studio functions as a sanctuary for experimentation and creation, with textiles as her ultimate muse.

This can find its materialization in various outcomes, such as refurbished and 'reupholstered' knob chairs, alienating soft cabinets, pleated ceramics, or marshmallow twisted window frames. Post's work delves deep into color, texture, and print. Her works breathe color and optimism but at the same time are always asking substantive questions. Her work is a testament to the potential of materials, demonstrating that with dedication, craftsmanship, and a sense of wonder, it’s possible to turn seemingly ordinary materials into something extraordinary.

She has a portfolio of projects, collaborating with esteemed companies such as Vlisco, Kvadrat, Adidas, and Hermès, yet she is ultimately driven by a profound inner compulsion to create her own highly coveted objects.
Her work has been exhibited worldwide, including in Brazil, China, Italy, India, the US, and across Europe, and has been acquired by multiple museums, including the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein, the Centraal Museum in Utrecht, MAD Paris, and the Cooper Hewitt in New York.
