Description from the seller

This statuette is a female figurine or "mother goddess" made of marble from the Neolithic era.
14.5cm high, not on a base, in polished marble. The head has been broken and previously restored (see photos).
It belongs to the Ozieri (or San Michele) culture, which developed in Sardinia at the end of the Neolithic period, around the 3rd millennium BC.
The sculpture is made of polished white marble, characterized by an abstract and geometric form. It features angular shoulders, a prominent chest, and a tapered lower body without legs.
These prehistoric figurines, like other "Paleolithic Venuses", are often associated with fertility forces or female deities, a cult widespread in the Mediterranean basin and neighboring regions.
