English table from the second half of the 19th century, in mahogany with rosewood inlay, in the English style.
Description from the seller
Elegant English table from the second half of the 19th century made of mahogany with rich decorative details.
The plan features two openable wings operated by the original mechanism, which are sturdy and well-functioning. The mahogany has a warm, uniform tone, enhanced by a refined inlay of boxwood in a triangular pattern that runs along the entire edge. The frame is further embellished with very elegant brass fillets and small carvings that highlight the quality of the craftsmanship.
The structure rests on a turned central shaft with a lower collar, from which four curved legs with original wheels and nails typical of the English style of the period branch out. The base also features a diamond inlay in ebony.
Fair condition: top and structure in good overall condition, but one leg is slightly higher, causing slight instability. Wheels are not fully functional and small missing inlays, all visible in the photos.
