AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful Zeeland cabinet. Circa 1650.
Beautiful patina.
Very beautiful and richly developed, yet harmonious, with many refined details.
A Zeeland cabinet is typified by its proportions: low and wide.
In those days the Zeelanders were incredibly rich from trade (the VOC) and seafaring, and they showed it in their furniture. This cabinet is an example of that.
Four doors and a wide drawer in between.

These cabinets always have a separate upper cabinet that sits on top of the base cabinet.
The profiles in the doors are called cornice profiles.
Also typical of the Renaissance.
Very beautiful and artistically carved lion heads.
The Zeelanders have a lion on their coat of arms that is half in the water.

Also see the beautifully finished sides with inlay work.
