Brand Rollei, model 35 black, functional condition: tested and working.
Description from the seller
Exceptionally beautiful black Rollei 35.
Production period 1966 - 1974.
The camera has been hardly used, looks and functions in every way as new. Except for a very small scratch on the back, the camera is rarely in excellent condition.
The camera was at the time acquired from the first owner in this condition and was subsequently, as part of a collection, only sparingly and carefully used.
It concerns a search camera.
Viewfinder and recording lenses are both in optimal condition.
Characteristic of the Rollei 35 are its design, construction, overall quality, compact build (at the time one of the smallest 35mm cameras), and the high-quality lens: the Rollei Tessar 3.5/40 (four elements in three groups). Sharpness and image rendition are of a high standard and characteristic of this type of lens. Especially with black and white film, stunning results can be achieved.
Smooth and backlash-free focusing ring. (The distance from the lens to the subject being photographed should be estimated or measured with a separate distance meter).
Central shutter; shutter speeds from 1/2 to 1/500 second and B.
Film sensitivity, shutter speeds, and aperture are individually, smoothly, and backlash-free adjustable using the dials next to the recording lens.
Tensioning the shutter, with the tension lever on top of the camera, is connected with the film transport and also proceeds smoothly without hiccups.
Note: For those not fully familiar with this camera: when the lens is retracted, the shutter release button is blocked; to release the shutter, the lens must be extended and fixed by turning it to the right. The lens can/must only be retracted with the shutter cocked!! Unlock with the button next to the shutter release.
Ignoring this procedure / forcing can cause damage to the camera.
Below the camera is the hot shoe, the tripod socket, the film rewind knob, and the lock for the back panel, which can be completely removed.
The shutter release button on top of the camera operates smoothly, with a clear pressure point, and is equipped with a screw thread for a cable release.
The light meter works; the white needle indicates the amount of light, and the red needle responds to camera settings (film sensitivity, aperture, and shutter speed). When both needles overlap, the exposure is correctly set. Of course, the accuracy should be tested empirically (with film) to confirm.
Battery included (separately packaged, inside the camera).
Film format: 35 mm ('small image'); 36 negatives of 24 x 36 mm.
Camera dimensions: 9.5 x 6.5 x 3.5 cm
Weight: 332 grams.
The camera will be carefully packed, registered, insured, and traceable, and will be shipped.
