Description from the seller
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
‘You look like a bloke with that back’ is the phrase that motivated the artist to create this painting. Ana has chosen an athlete swimming butterfly, a difficult style but one whose name evokes subtlety and fragility. The position and framing of the human figure are intentional. The colour palette denounces the pink-for-girls/blue-for-boys stereotype.
ABOUT THE DELIVERY
- Painted in acrylic on canvas and delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
- The canvas is designed to be stretched on an XXX frame and measures approximately 5cm extra on each side.
-It is shipped rolled up to minimise damage and reduce transport costs.
-Signed and dated by the artist on the back of the canvas.
-Shipped without frame or stretcher.
-The colours on the screen may vary slightly from the actual colours of the painting.
-The canvas may have undulations and cracks due to the different material load. It is recommended that you take it to a specialist to have it stretched properly on a stretcher.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Ana Patitú was born in 1982 in Argentina, where She worked as a graphic designer for over 15 years. In 2016, She moved to Barcelona for love, but the feeling of being uprooted led me to enrol in swimming classes, where She began to feel more connected to myself. She returned to painting, my true passion, and turned it into my profession, exploring the human figure as a vehicle for emotions and the different moods I have experienced. Ana has presented her work in solo exhibitions in Madrid and Barcelona, and I have participated in several group exhibitions at the Esther Montoriol, Jordi Barnadas and Sara Caso galleries, as well as in the Art For Life project (Chicago, USA). Her works are also part of numerous private collections in America, Europe and Australia.
