Single cask (cognac cask #502) of HERR (High Ester Rhum Réunion) Savanna rum, distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2016. From its historic site in Saint-Paul, the distillery has preserved a magnificent copper Savalle column still, which it still uses alongside several stainless steel columns and a pot still. From these stills, it produces a multitude of rums, including the Grand Arôme, which undergoes a fermentation lasting approximately fifteen days. Whether it's rhum agricole (made from sugarcane juice) or traditional rum (made from molasses), Savanna is one of the few distilleries in the world to offer such a wide range of aromas, recently highlighted by various merchants, including Velier, with its Savanna 1999 Villa Paradisetto.
