Description from the seller
HEUER 712.301 split stopwatch 1/5 sec. HEUER hand-winding split stopwatch NOS.
Vintage stopwatch of the brand Heuer.
Production year approximately 1978.
Uses a 1/5-second 'recorder' (meaning the main counter measures time with 1/5 second precision).
It has a split function (rattrapante or split-time), which means you can record intermediate times while the stopwatch continues running.
It features a central 0–60 minutes timer.
Movement mechanism: standard hand-winding (lever movement), 13 jewels, shock-protected.
Why this model is special.
Because it is a genuine vintage stopwatch — from the late 1970s — it is an item with character and potential historical or collectible value, especially for enthusiasts of classic timers.
The combination of split function + minute counter + 1/5 sec makes it suitable for relatively precise timing measurements, not just short 'sec/min' measurements. For example, it is useful for rallies, classic motorsport, or other events where split times need to be recorded.
The diameter of 53 mm is quite large for a stopwatch, which makes it more manageable: you can read and operate it more easily.
