Argento 925, made in Italy, an ovoid enamelled flask from the 1960s with a vivid polychrome enamel decoration on a guilloché green background, depicting a romantic Indo-Persian scene, with enamelled neck and cap, base with visible silver hallmark, dimensions 13.5 x 10 x 3.5 cm, weight 200.2 g, handmade and in good condition with minor signs of age and wear.
Description from the seller
Italy, mid-20th century
Measurements: 13.5 × 10 × 3.5 cm
Weight: 200.2 g
Material: Silver 925 (hallmark present) and enamels.
Charming small flask or oval-shaped little bottle in 925 silver finely enameled, characterized by a lively multicolored enamel decoration of high quality.
The front features a romantic scene inspired by Indo-Persian iconography: two figures seated in a flowering garden, rendered with bright enamels on a green background with guilloché work. The border is enriched with floral motifs and stylized avifauna, typical of Italian production that reinterpreted Eastern themes in the 1950s-1970s.
The neck and the stopper are also enamelled, while the base bears the silver hallmark visible in the photo.
A refined decorative object, entirely handcrafted, ideal for collectors of Italian enamels, artistic silverware, and decorative arts of the second half of the twentieth century.
Condition
Good overall condition, with slight signs of age and use on the base and minor wear to the enamels (see photos). No breaks.
Object tested with comparison acid for silver.
