Apulian Gnathian terracotta oinochoe, Greek South Italian c.3rd Century B.C., 18 cm high, in excellent and intact condition, decorated with red, yellow and white slip featuring ivy tendrils and leaves.
Description from the seller
With bulbous body standing on short ring foot, trefoil lip and strap handle, decorated in red, yellow and white slip with ivy tendrils and leaves. Waves and ribbon fillers.
Size: 18 cm H - 7 1/16 inches
Material: Terracotta
Culture: Greek, South Italy, c. 3rd Century B.C.
Condition: Intact
Provenance: The collection of the late Sir Clinton Charles Donald Cory, 5th Baronet of Coryton; acquired by the above from Sotheby's, 18 July 1985.
