Late Period to Ptolemaic Period, circa 1069-30 BC. Collection of five ushebtis made of pottery, each molded in a simplified mummiform shape and covered with a blue glaze. All figures feature slightly defined facial features and a tripartite wig. The arms are crossed over the chest, holding a pick and a hoe, agricultural tools that symbolize the ushebtis' role in performing manual labor in the afterlife on behalf of the deceased. The bodies are columnar and taper towards a small base. The backs are smooth and flat.
