Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Elegant pair of early 19th‑century Piemonte Empire armchairs in solid walnut, with clean, straight lines, dimensions 90 cm high by 60 cm wide by 50 cm deep, made in Italy with an estimated period of 1815–1825 and in very good condition with minor wear and age signs.
Description from the seller
An elegant pair of early 19th-century Piedmontese Empire armchairs, in solid walnut, completely original. The intact and stable structure features the clean, rigorous lines typical of the Empire style: a slightly curved banded backrest, sinuous sculpted armrests, and straight front legs, while the rear legs are saber-shaped. The walnut has a warm, deep hue, enhanced by the authentic period patina.
There are no structural defects, only minimal signs of aging. The upholstery, still usable, shows some abrasions and therefore needs to be overhauled, although the original studs remain perfectly secure. The underseat retains its period closure, a very charming detail.
Thanks to their essential lines, these armchairs integrate surprisingly well even in modern environments, becoming pieces of great character.
